Raley’s Market in Granite Bay

Advanced Fly Tying with Bill Carnazzo and others

The advanced/intermediate fly tying class, as was mentioned in an earlier post and in the Leader, will be held this spring. The format will be the same as last year: six Tuesday-sessions, each featuring a different tyer doing different types of flies. It will be held at the Raley's event center at their store in Granite Bay (Douglas and Auburn-Folsom Rd). Each session will go from 6-9 p.m. The dates and tyers are as follows:

   Updated March 31, 2008:

April 1..........Jim Holmes and Gene Goss (Stillwater flies)
April 8..........Sturmer White (Tying with deer hair)

April 15........Bill Carnazzo (Probably my October Caddis "Quintet" of flies)
April 29........Ken Hanley (We are working on what he will do)
May 13.........Pete Peterson (Bass flies that work; Pete says he'll be doing the

"Half & Half" which is a marriage between a couple of very successful bass flies)
May 20.........David Lee (Original patterns--Dave is a very creative tyer and an excellent fly angler)

The class will be limited to 15 members maximum. If more sign up, we will have to do a lottery. The class is free, but members will be responsible for their own materials cost. Signups will be taken beginning with the February meeting. In the meantime if anyone has questions, please contact me. See contact info below.
