The advanced/intermediate fly tying class, as was mentioned in an earlier post and in the Leader, will be held this spring. The format will be the same as last year: six Tuesday-sessions, each featuring a different tyer doing different types of flies. It will be held at the Raley's event center at their stores in Granite Bay (Douglas and Auburn-Folsom Rd) and Roseville (check locations). Each session will go from 6-9 p.m. Updated Dec. 31, 2008: Pete Peterson will be teaching the first session. Here is what he said about materials, etc.: "We will be tying the Clouser Minnow and the Half & Half. Because of the amount of different materials we will be using, I find it easier if everyone chips in $2.00 and I will supply the materials. They need to bring a bottle of head cement and a spool of thread of a bright color (orange or chartreuse) in size 3/0 or larger." Please note that Pete will collect $2.00 from each participant to pay for the materials that he will be providing.

The classes will be limited to 15 members maximum. If more sign up, we will have to do a lottery. The class is free, but members will be responsible for their own materials cost. Sign-ups will be taken beginning with the January meeting.
