9:00 AM – 12:00 NOON

John Hogg's Pond, Newcastle, CA

John HoggSturmer WhiteAn informal casting workshop will be held on Saturday, Oct 17, from 9AM to 12 Noon. While there are no appointed coaches, or an instructional agenda, members will have the opportunity to work on their casts, get their distance casts measured, and use an accuracy course. There is one point on the pond where you can practice switch casts if you bring a spey rod. This is an open house event, and you can come for all or part of the morning.

The event is hosted by Sturmer White, GBF”s casting director, and John Hogg, and will be held at John’s pond in Newcastle.

Casters should wear sun protection, and eyewear to protect from errant casts. Bring your own refreshments.

The pond’s fish population is under rehabilitation, and cannot be fished – so please no hooks. Terminate your leader with yarn.

If you do not have a rod, come anyway, we'll have a loaner or two on hand.
