I’ve made arrangements for a fee-based Shad Clinic for a limited number of Granite Bay Flycasters members with Al Smatsky, a premiere shad guide on the American, Yuba, and Feather Rivers.

This clinic provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to anglers wanting to branch out and expand their skills. Al is an industry professional and we need to pay him for his time. However, the fees are nominal compared to what you will gain in terms of skills, techniques, and river savvy.

The Shad Clinic with Al Smatsky will be held from 3:00 p.m. until dark on Wednesday, May 16^th, 2007. It will be limited to eight (8) Granite Bay Flycasters members. The cost will be $25 per person. Participants are responsible for their own food and water.

I will shortly have more details on the exact meeting place, equipment, etc. for this clinic and will get that information out to the membership. There will be a sign up sheet at the April general meeting, and, if the clinic is not full by then, at the May general meeting.
