By the time you read this the Trout Season will have just been opened, and I hope everyone was able to get out and go fishing. The General Meeting this month is Member’s night, which is like having a dozen mini clinic’s going on at once, this is always a popular meeting night, thus we will be having two Member’s night meetings this year, the next one in September. Thank you, Robin Egan, for stepping up and volunteering to finish out the fiscal year as VP of Conservation. We will make it official at the May meeting with a vote of the membership present. Also at the May Meeting is the closing of nominations for open Board of Director and Officer positions. If you are interested, please contact Frank Stolten or Mike Brune (nominating committee) prior to or during the May meeting for nominations will be closed and the end of the meeting and the elections take place at the June meeting. This is a great way to get more involved with the Club, so I urge you to contact any Board member and ask questions if you are interested in running for a position. You beginning fly tyer’s need to get with the program (the monthly beginning fly tying contest at the general meeting) for we only had one entry again this last month, and Robin Egan took home the $15 dollar gift certificate to American Fly Fishing Co. with no competition. American Fly Fishing Co. donates the $25 and $15 dollar gift certificate each month to the beginning and non-beginning fly tying contest, so the next time you go into their shop, thank them for their support of Your Club. Wow, between March and April I think that we have had a record number of Clinic’s, Classes and Fishouts, which means what a great job has been done by all of the Leaders and helpers of the events and of course the Orchestra Leader himself, Bill Carnazzo. Thank you all that have volunteered to help with these events and help fellow Fly Fishermen & Fly Fisherwomen and promote our sport and support your Club at the same time. Well, I have thanked a lot of Club Members, got on my soap box again and am now at the end of my message, so it must be time to go fishing. See you out there! Tight Lines! Rick Radoff President |
