Feather River 'low flow' section regs finally clarified. 

The specific regulations on this section of the river (between the Highway 70 bridge and the green bicycle bridge at the Feather River Hatchery) have been a point of confusion and frustration among local fly fishers for some time now.  

In order to try to obtain an 'official' interpretation of those regs, Gary Flanagan wrote this letter (on March 8, 2002) to the Dept. of Fish & Game last year.  The formal response he got is provided here for the benefit of anyone who desires to fish this area.  

Bottom line...  yes, it's legal to fish this water - provided you follow the regs!
