Water Hyacinth Removal Linda Creek Granite Bay, CA Friday, April 25, 2008 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM |
|
Granite Bay Flycasters members are encouraged to volunteer for this 2008 Creek Week project. Water Hyacinth is an invasive species that rapidly takes over and consumes nutrients that fish need, causing the fish population to diminish.
Sign up by sending an Email to Dave Baker and grab your waders, wading boots, sun hat, etc for the removal of invasive water hyacinth along Linda Creek in Granite Bay on Friday, April 25th. Water hyacinth, widely distributed because of its large purple flowers, has tremendous growth and reproduction rates and its free-floating mats cause substantial problems. Please contact Dave Baker at (916) 315-0715 if you have any questions about this activity and what tools to bring.
Directions: From Sierra College Blvd, go East on Old Auburn Rd. Take 2nd Right on Eastridge Drive, Left on Luxor Lane, Right on Daggett Court. The Bike Path that leads to the project area is next to 531 Daggett Court, Granite Bay, CA. Please park somewhere in the neighborhood along Daggett Court or Luxor Lane, taking care not to block anyone's driveway. Do not park on Sierra College or Old Auburn Road, which have too much traffic. |
