The river is producing some very nice steelies, but the weather will be cold and maybe damp so be prepared.  If we get a lot of rain and the river is blown out, we will probably cancel the trip, so stay tuned.  Mike is maintaining an email list of those who want to go, and will keep you posted.  We will be staying at the Del Loma RV Park, which is 73 miles west of Redding.  In good weather it takes about 4.5 hours from Sacramento to get there; allow more time if there is bad weather.

There are five cabins. Three of them can sleep 3, and go for $55 per night for two plus $5 for the extra person. The other two can sleep 4 at $75 per night for two and $5 for each extra person. The larger cabins have stoves and all cabins have microwave ovens, picnic tables, and BBQ kettles. Mike has put a hold on all cabins until he can get a head count. If you bring your own RV, the charge is $22 (full hook ups).

If you prefer a tent, the cost is $2.00 per night, with one tent allowed per cabin. You will need to bring all of your own food, as there are no restaurants in the near vicinity.

For equipment, a 7 or 8 rod will do. Bring a floating line set up for indicator fishing. You can also swing flies, in which case you may wish to have an intermediate line and also a fast-sinking sink tip line. Flies for the Trinity vary, but egg patterns (small) can be counted on.

If you want up to date information, call the Fly Shop in Redding: (530) 222-3555.  Mike will send the group an email on Dec. 8th to confirm everything.
