It’s time to plan for the annual GBF Upper Sac Fishout, one of our premier events of the year. This year’s fishout is Friday, October 20 to Sunday, October 22. There's plenty of room for attendees, but it's advisable to make reservations early. Cave Springs Motel has rooms, cabins and RV spaces. Acorn Motel and Railroad Motel are also in Dunsmuir and are convenient. Most motel rooms have two or more beds, so doubling up is possible. At that time of year we can expect cold and wet weather, so be prepared.  Winter can come early in that part of California.  The type “A” Flycasters come up on Thursday.

We’ve planned several events for the weekend:

Thursday: for the early crowd, dinner at Gary’s Pizza Factory

Friday: a Mexican dinner at Casa Ramos

Saturday: the former Mike and Tony’s.  More details and addresses later when we find out if they’ re still viable.

We will make an effort to pair up newer fly-fishers and those with more experience.
