Members Night

May 10, 2007

Once again it is time for Member's Night, the annual May meeting where a dozen or so members display some of the aspects of flyfishing and a broad range of club activities.  The topics range from the classroom egg program to net building.  It is a great meeting to learn and /or re-learn about bugs, knot tying, fly rod building, conservation projects, gear, and much more!  So, come one, come all!  This is the meeting that a member can receive the maximum amount of information in the least amount of time.

Each spring, we devote a general meeting for “Member’s Night.” This night provides our membership and visitors with information and displays of what Granite Bay Flycasters offers the membership. We don’t have a guest speaker or a long drawn out introduction by the president.  What we do offer are displays at several tables of club activities.

Activity coordinators will have informational displays set up for many of the following activities:

Club Fishouts
Entomology program and Sagehen Clinic
Salmon/Steelhead Egg Program
Fly Tying Clinics
Net Building Clinics
Casting Clinics
Rod Building Clinics
Conservation Projects
Golden Trout Program
Annual Picnic and One Fly Contest
Bamboo Rod Display
Membership Table
Knot Tying
Guide Table
American River Hatchery Docent Program
Salmon Festival
Club equipment that can be borrowed by members (rods, reels & fly tying kits)

Club library

Club logo merchandise sale (caps, shirts, etc)

A lot of our long-time members say this meeting is the most enjoyable evening of the year because it affords them the time to just hang out and visit with other GBF members. Hope to see you there!
